Title: Single Use Wired DIR 655
Post by: shamal on December 27, 2013, 10:13:16 AM
I would like to use my DIR 655 to wire a single use connection to a PS3 in the kids den, for US Netflix. I have an account at Blockless and have the DNS numbers to enter into the router. I have a Cisco DPC3825 cable modem, with no bridging change function that I can find. I believe I do not need to bridge the modem, as everything we use is wired, we have no wireless enabled in the house. The PS3 is a tricky unit to change the DNS on, it reverts the settings with netflix,  hence my wish to use a router to accomplish this.
Could someone advise on the best way to accomplish the task ? Have read many posts and Furry help files etc and did not find a direct solution of a "wired only" router connection.
Thank you for any help

I solved the problem by updating the firmware to 1.37, for whatever reason the changes to the ip and dns addressing stayed while saving. It works ! Spoofed the PS3 into a US address, on a wired network. I created a different IP for the router, let the PS3 address itself, allowing the router to access the modem, which is addressed the same as default DLink settings.
