Title: GUI setup hangs up
Post by: jinserk on May 27, 2009, 05:12:45 PM
I'm a newbie of DNS-323. I've tried 1.08 beta firmware last night, and reformatted my HDD to ext3.. but the progress bar hangs up at 30 %. The GUI setup had been no response. I turned off the device, and turn on again, then back to 1.07 firmware.

The reformatting to ext2 was successful, but, when I set a group and read/write permission, the GUI setup hangs up after pushing save button.
The smb access seems no problem.
Once the setup hangs, then I coudn't reconnect it unless I reboot DNS-323.
Help me please.

It seems the similar issues on these :

By the way, how can I confirm my DNS-323's hardware version?

I tried the setup on Mac OS X 10.5.7., Safari 4 beta.

On firmware 1.08 how long did it hang at 30% before you turned of the unit? What size HD' are you using and in what mode standard, JBOD or RAID? And did you try again or try ext2 before going back to 1.07?

I waited 2 hrs but it still showed no response. My HD is a Seagate 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB single, in the right slot of the unit, in the standard mode. I didn't try the ext2 with 1.08b. Now it is formatted as ext2 with 1.07.

When I tried again last night, the web gui didn't hang, but I failed again and again to add BT with easy search utiltity 4.4.0.0 on my windows machine. Is there no way to install BT on Mac to 1.07 FW?

No it cannot be installed with Mac. This wont be an issue with the next firmware update as you can see in the beta.
