Title: Storage Management
Post by: utomo on January 10, 2014, 05:37:49 PM
Do the dlink have good storage management.?
1. Space allocation
2 multi user and multi level rules. Example admin can open the user protected folder.
3 password protection folder.

Thanks

Ya the DIR series does allow for these kinds of features...Some have web storage access controls with adding users accounts and thats about it. IF you need the features you've listed, you'll need to get into a DNS series device. I just got a DNS-345. Tons of features I'm still learning about.  :o

Dns 345 is too expensive for me.

I just want simple things.
Example

Parents can have password protected folder,  so kids can not open it.
I believe it is not difficult for dlink to add on the DIR series.

Well, there in lies the problem. This is not a feature of this router and is not designed for that kind of management thus I presume that D-Link won't add it in just for one person.  :-\ There is only storage options for handling Storage accounts and access using the web side of the router.
