Hi,
Does anyone know whether I can set up more than one account on mydlink.com to point to the same NAS?
I want to set up access for friends/family to access from their homes, but I'd rather not give them the full read/write access that my account will give them.
When I try to register on the site, it tells me to run the setup wizard again, but it don't want to do this in case I end up wiping everything on the NAS and I also don't know whether it will then add a second account or just overwrite my current one.
Does anyone have any ideas?

No. A Cloud device can only be associated with one mydlink account, and each account only has one user login name/password.

Ok, thanks. Could I achieve this if I set up FTP access?
For example, I set them up as a user on the NAS (as opposed to cloud access) and could they then access only the folders their permissions allow when accessing via FTP?

Yes! You can configure your DNS-320L to accommodate any number of unique users (with unique access permission) for FTP access, which has nothing to do with mydlink, but rather instantiating direct connections between end users and your DNS-320L.

Yeah, I've managed to get the FTP to work. I haven't created any new users yet, but I can access the admin user from a computer not connected to my home network.
The only issue is that the WAN IP address keeps changing, well swapping between two different ones. I presume that's my router and has nothing to do with the NAS.

What Mfr and model is your main host router?
How often do you notice the IP address change on the WAN?
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Mrf is Sagemcom and model is F@ST2504n. My ISP is Sky Broadband (in the UK) and the router is configured with their own settings.
Well, I've only noticed it change a couple of times, when I've logged on to the FTP service. They were a couple of days apart. However, I can't be certain how many times it's changed in between these times.
It's not really a problem (or I don't think it is) as it's only swapped between two different WAN IP's and so I just make a note of both so if one doesn't work, the other one will. I'll have to let anyone else who I set up as users, that they may need to try both.

Most ISP change the WAN IP address every so often, usually here in the states 30 days or so. Some shorter and some are longer. Just depends on ISP policy.
If your rebooting the ISP modem, this may trigger the change.
You could ask the ISP about a Static IP address or just keep on hand the IP address information.

Ah ok, I didn't realise that. It's always handy to know. It only seems to have changed to and from two different ones so far, so hopefully that stays the case.
