The DSM-520 identifies my network drive (Buffalo Link Station) but I cannot find the files. How can I play files directly from the network drive without using my computer?

What kind of files? I have never been able to use my 520 without a media server running on a PC (TVersity). Now, my 750 does..

I am trying to play mp3, avi, and jpg.
When I look for servers the 520 identifyes the network drive - Link Station - but when I look for the files insile the 520 shows the NO CONTENT message.
I believe it is possible since that is what says in the box, and it sees the drive. Serching on messegas in the forum I found one that talks about the correct file structure - ie. specific directory name.
Your suggestions are welcome.

gacevedo. I am using D-link's DSM-G600 NAS and .mp3 & .jpg are processed without a problem. If the .avi are Divx, then you will need to use a media server.. Chris

thank you for your response.
I cannot play the .jpg files. how can I do that without a server?

Have you tried checking out the Buffalo admin interface?
I'm not familiar with that device (I have a Lacie) but you might need to go through there and tell it to share out particular folders to the built-in media server. Several other devices like the Lacie can ship with media sharing on the device disabled for security.

I have a Buffalo network drive. I never did get the 520 working with it.
