Title: DIR-825 - After a few days, wireless gets "stuck" and I have to reboot
Post by: BassMan on January 16, 2014, 07:21:48 AM
Any idea why with HW:B1, 2.05NA, after a few days, wireless gets "stuck" and I have to reboot the router?

I have QoS off, and nothing fancy configured.  It is getting frustrating, though; I hate having to reboot so frequently.

I'm looking at Netgear & ASUS offerings, but see similar complaints, so I suspect it is in the nature of wireless, but maybe not.  The DIR-825 will be fine if I can get rid of this problem, otherwise, I need to "upgrade".

When the wireless gets "stuck", rebooting a client generally helps, but sometimes it gets so "stuck" that the router itself has to be reboot.  Hard-wired is rock-solid, never a problem.

Router Placement

6" minimum safe distance between devices.

Let us know any results of the suggestions and if you can provide some feedback on the questions presented before I'll recommend updating FW. I don't think updating FW may help at this time...Lets troubleshoot this first.

I have read the information posted and I am not sure I understand it all.  However, my dir-825 was having hard connection issues with my computer.  I could not login into the router because my connection would be lost once I hard wired the router.  After several reboots, resets, and power downs, I thought I discovered that my lan ports on my router were not working.  However, I recently bought a Netgear fast ethernet switch FS105 and connected per instructions.  For whatever reasons, everything started working.  I made most of the changes mentioned in the post above once I was able to login to the router.  Is this due to a boost in the signal???  Just trying to understand.  Sorry if my question is simple.  Thanks!

Possible or a bad cable or bad device LAN connection or mis-configuration on the LAN configuration on the device.

B1 - latest firmware upgrade; Just bought one of the cables, but as I was looking for the info, I lost internet connection.  Pushed on the cords and seemed to help.  Geesh!
