I have a HP LaserJet 1012 (old monochrone laser printer) plugged to a D-Link DPR-1260 Printer server.
If I plug it to the USB port of the DIR-655 and use SharePort software, do you know if it will works?

How about giving it a try? It's really non-destructive to try...

There is a very good chance it will work - I have a Canon multifunction laser and everything works fine, even the scanning.

I hesitate to do that, because my router is on the top of a shelf and my cables are a little bit short. I ask the question in this forum, because in the new Shareport forum no D-link technical staff seems to watch it. You gave some good ideas to solve the problem....without success. Commun point: the DIR-655 is the router used by the persons on that forum.... That's why I try this forum!

I check the Shareport forum and it seems to be easy to connect it and impossible to print!

"No pain, no gain". But have it your way and just don't try. By the way, my printer setup works great through Shareport (2 printers!).

I should have been more specific - when the router has freshly been restarted, Shareport works perfectly. I an print and scan without issue. I do suffer from the bug that makes it impossible to reconnect to the printer without a router reboot.

Welcome to the club, Serco and McLearn. With few exceptions, everyone that owns a DIR-655, uses Shareport, and posts to this forum all have the same problem. EddieZ and D-link engineers are the exceptions that come to mind. I think most of us are participating in watchful waiting now.
