Title: Slow internal transfer speeds
Post by: Xiaous on January 20, 2014, 12:28:16 PM
Hello, I have the DIR-655 Hardware Version: B1 running Firmware Version: 2.11NA, and for as long as I can recall I have been getting painfully slow internal transfer speeds. From wired to wired I manage 8-12MBps, and from wired to wireless 1-3MBps. Wireless to wireless I get <1MBps.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the performance is so slow but have been unable to resolve it. Is there anyone who can help me figure this out?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

Also the addition of installing a external Gb network switch between the router and wired LAN devices is recommended.

Thanks!

I am in Canada, and have performed factory resets before and after upgrading firmware.

I have a cable 30Mbps service, and do get the full 30Mbps more often than not. I have a DCM476 modem.

I have also tried every suggestion you've posted as I've been lurking on these forums for a while trying to solve this issue. Nothing I've found posted here has been of use unfortunately.

That wouldn't help my <1MBps wireless speeds though. Is there nothing I can do short of getting a new router?

Give the external Gb switch a try.

Wireless, make sure your any adapter drivers are up to date for those devices that have those.
