Title: DIR615 tcp connection reset/timeouts
Post by: hatethisrouter on January 25, 2014, 06:56:27 AM
So I've been having a ton of trouble with this router resetting active tcp connections.

I'm guessing due to this the timeout value set for : tcp_conntrack_tcp_timeout_close_wait as disclosed here:
 http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42159.20;wap2

The problem dissappears when I alter my own /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_intvl on my system to 1 second lower than tghe value dlink assigns to its firmware.

This is a bandaid I guess but is there a more concrete fix for this issue by dlink? (i have the latest firmware to my knowledge, 5.01)

Is there a way I can modify the tcp_conntrack_timeout_close_wait value on the firmware itself?

If the router seems to be resetting or timing out, usually means there is a configuration issue, interferences or a compatibility issue. You shouldn't have to configure any keep alive settings at all. Please review the suggestions below and give feedback on the questions asked so we can get a better idea of what is going on and your system. The more we know the better we can help you figure this out.

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
6" minimum safe distance between devices.
