Title: DIR-868L and WOL through mydlink?
Post by: DriesV on January 27, 2014, 05:52:40 PM
Hi,

I searched the forums, but couldn't find a clear answer...
Does D-Link DIR-868L support Wake-on-LAN through registering the router on mydlink?

I'm looking for a replacement for my old DIR-855 (rest assured, it will find a new home! ;-) ).
Simple, straightforward and robust WOL capabilities are a must-have feature for any router I will consider.
Somehow, I've never been able to get WOL to work over internet. I kind of gave up trying... (DIR-855 is HW version A2, FW version 1.24EU)

I'm Belgian. My ISP is Telenet. The new router (just like the DIR-855 now) will be put in the DMZ of the Telenet-specific (Motorola?) modem/router.

Regards,
Dries

There is no support for WOL viz mydlink.

What's the best way to approach WOL over internet for this particular model?
*help I'm a noob!* :)

I believe there is one or two articles in the FAQ Library (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=304.0) regarding WOL. You could try that and see if it might work on this model.

Personally I haven't tested it and don't have a need for WOL. Hope maybe you can get it working well.
