Hey Furry,
I just got my DGL-5500. Opened it plugged everything in, turned it on and the power light stays yellow. Reset button does not work, and can't connect to it. Should i send it to dLink or send it back to where I bought it from? either way it has to be shipped.
-
Did you power off the ISP modem before connecting the 5500?
Swap cables between the modem and router after connecting everything up?
-
let me try it all again just to be sure. brb
-
Power off both for leave off for a minute...power ON ISP modem first and let it sync...then power on 5500.
Connect the 5500s power plug to a wall out let, by passing any power strips just to test. ::)

Did all as requested. Power light stays amber. internet light does not light up, wireless does not show up. I think i got a bad egg.
-
Ya, sounds like it, sorry about that. Up to you, if you got it online, get a refund or replacement. If you go thru D-Link, do the RMA. Could could ask for a cross shipment option as see if they can ship one out fast then you ship the bad one back. Up to you.
Keep us posted.

instead of sending back to nobetterdeal.com, can i just ship it to DLink and have them cross ship a new one?
-
You'll need to call and ask. I haven't done that before with D-Link so I don't know if they have that option. I have with places like newegg. Call and find out. I think the last time I contacted them, they have me a case number to give to the retail outlets for returns for items under warranty. I presume it would be up to retail outlets if they supported cross shipment options. Call the retailer where you got it and ask first, then contact D-Link and ask them. Then make the decision.
Let us know what they say.

You find out anything sir? ???

OK, so Dlink told me to return it to where I bought it from. Ugh all I want is to get this replaced and having to do so by contacting the seller was going to be more of a hassle. Received an email from Oscar Navarro
Technical Support Manager for DLink. He became interested in this particular post on the forums here and contacted me via direct email. I called him back and he is bypassing the RMA dept. Shipping one out today and I have to send him the DOA back when the new one gets here..
DLINK ROCKS!!!!!! This is why i stay true to this company. Customer service at it's finest. Great products, and they really do care about thier products and clients.
Furry- Thanks to you as well. You definitely are an asset to DLink. Keep up the GR8 work.

KEWL BEANS man. Glad they allowed the cross shipment. I presume they want to inspect the HW on this DOA unit and what caused it to be back out of the box.
Sorry that this happened though. Glad it's taken care of.
Keep us posted on next unit. I saw you on XBL last nite. :P

Get a hold of me on XBL tonight so I can fill you in on a couple things.

I don't think we can make contact since I don't have a XB1. Only 360...not compatible. ::) HEHE.
-
What? Do you think I threw out my other 2 360's? tisk tisk tisk. I am collecting all the game systems that have come out since I have been born and am going to have an entertainment center made with cubicles for each system. click and scroll to take a look.

Ya, that's why i'm not getting a XB1. I've already invested in games that still work well and are playable on the 360 and should have been supported one the XB1 however wasn't. MS and Sony made a lot of people mad at that. >:(

SO...Did you get a new 5500 sir? ???
