hi,

i am using a dir 655 for my home server and my server uses 2nics, 1 connected to router and the other 1 connected for internal network.. i tried to install shareport utility on my server and also to one of my clients but cannot detect any device.. i am using windows server 2003..

upgrade my firmware to v1.31

any help on the configuration will be appreciated

Installed Shareport version 1.10?

Possibly it's binding to the wrong NIC or subnet. You can set broadcast addresses to look for device servers in the Shareport utility Options screen.

In the main Shareport window, click 'Option' (wrench tool symbol), tab "Search (or find) device servers. Here you can enter another subnet to additionally look for devices.

hi,

was able to add the broadcast and is now able to detect the device, but the problem now is when i try to connect to the device it just returns to the status available..

You might want to try the new 1.32 beta firmware. The changelog states that Shareport issues have been solved. I'm running it now and no issues thus far.
