Title: 2 questions: keps dropping connection and mystery dropped packages
Post by: softech on February 01, 2014, 12:18:14 PM
dropped package question.. my DIR655.. (tried 2.07 and 2.11 both same) keeps have entries like that:
[ 974.680000] '[DROPPED-PACKET]:'IN= OUT=br0 SRC=192.168.1.1 DST=192.168.1.51 PROTO=ICMP TYPE=3 CODE=3

my router in 192.168.1.1
so, that mean the router keeps sending icmp package to one of my internal machine?  and it drops that package?  what does that mean?

the other question is more annoying.. the routers keeps dropping internet connection every 30 mins or so.. however, it will recover itself after a minute or so..

I tried disabling QoS.. but still same.. and ... I hope to keep using QoS and that is the purpose of me getting this router in the beginning

I had 6mb service before but it never like this.. since changing to 25 mb service, I have issue the drop connection issue.. does not router not capable of handling the 25 mb service?

please advise.

Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.

Well you know if you have read my posts before that others fill in the questions and give feed back so we can get a better idea of what you have so we can give you better feed back and suggestions. Kind of hard to help you trouble shoot the problem with out a bit more info. These questions are pertinent and relevant to the situation.
