Title: Moving a DNS-320 from Home to Work
Post by: 1nv1nc1ble on February 05, 2014, 12:50:35 AM
Hi guys,

I took my DNS-320 rev.B with me at the office today, in order to connect it to the office network and move some files, but my Home Network configuration is 192.168.1.x and the Network configuration at the office is 192.168.0.x
How can I have access to my dlink WITHOUT resetting it and changing the configuration?

Thanks in advance

Unless your office network allow routing between different subnet, changing the NAS configuration (IP address) is the only way out. Just remember to save the existing NAS configuration first before making the changes.

1. saving the configuration means that I have access to the webUI, which I don't because of the different subnet  :(
2. will any changes affect my files ?

Well, you can always save the configuration ahead of time when you have access to it at home or directly connected. Use the D-Link Storage Utility to detect the NAS when it is connected to office network. If NAS is undetected for some reason, just set your PC to static address under the same subnet (ie, 192.168.1.x) and change accordingly.

Changing of NAS IP address alone will NOT affect your files.
