This might be a dumb question, but how do you eject a USB drive plugged into the shareport of a D-Link wireless router? (in my case, DSL-2870B).
There's nothing in the manual, and I couldn't find anything on this site, and nothing that I could see logged into the router via the Web GUI.
I am reluctant to just pull the USB stick out, having cooked a few UBS sticks in the past doing that.
Looking forward to a simple answer... ???
Thanks.

It's a valid question and concern to as I've experienced some odd behavior of pulling USB sticks out of PCs. Unlike PCs, there is no ejection process to ensure the USB device can be cleanly removed with out issues on modems or routers.
I generally turn off the modem/router then pull the USB device.

Oh dear, that really is not a "nice" implementation then. Something to add to the web GUI, Mr. D-Link, in the next firmware upgrade.

Generally disconnecting the USB drive by pulling it is ok. If your USB drive has a power button or external power, then power off the USB drive what way, then pull the USB plug.
I presume that D-Link will not be implementing any eject features for USB devices since they have never had any issues or a need for it on there products.
