Title: Picture in Motion Detection Emails Not Displaying
Post by: lwb250 on February 19, 2014, 06:28:26 AM
Just set up a 932 camera on my dlink with motion detection alert emails.

No matter what email program or webmail client I use, the still image from the motion capture will not display in the email or as a separate image. I can see the icon where the image should be, but it won't display. The file appears to be there as well.

I have done this with both Mac and Windows email clients as well as with browser based webmail.

???

Did you try downloading the file and opening in a image viewer application (e.g. MS Paint)?

I guess I'm a little confused.

It appears the image I thought was a capture from the camera is a logo that is not displaying properly (it's a .png image file, not that it matters.)

I was of the impression that when motion is detected an email is sent with a capture from the camera.

Is this the case or not?

The DCS-932L does have the option to attach screen captures to emails. Presuming you are using a fairly recent firmware version, make sure you have the following options selected:

I was confused.  I thought it would provide snapshots with the email notification through MyDlink.

Found the UI for the camera tonight and go it set up properly.

Thanks!

mydlink does not provide any messaging capabilities. Email notifications are configured solely through the web UI. Post back and let us know how everything works out.  ;)
