I need your help with DIR 505.
I am trying to connect Dlink repeater - DIR 505 in repeated mode to my Samsung LED TV but I keep getting the error that IP is not correct. I am able to connect the repeater to my laptop and mobile but not to TV. TV is getting connected with the main router - DLINK 2750U but not to the repeater. I called up Dlink tech support but they were not able to help. Any idea how this can be fixed ? I also tried to connect the TV to repeater through LAN wire but failed to do so though the repeater was getting connected with laptop through LAN.
I have exhausted the following options.
1. Factory reset of TV, main modem and the repeater
2. Static and dynamic IP
3. WEP, WPA and WPS
4. Firmware upgrade of repeater
I tried following config changes with the router.
Band - 2.4 Ghz
Channel - Auto
Standard Mode - 802.11b/g. Also tried 802.11ng
The manual of my TV says that the TV does not support 802.11n with WEP. I then tried to use 802.11b/g with WEP / no security / WPA but could not succeed in getting the repeater connected. The repeater is detected by the TV but after typing in the password following message gets displayed.
Check your password, and IP settings.
Any help will be welcome.
Thanks,
Rohit

- 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
- Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
- Try setting a manual Channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_channel) to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
- What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard), so you might want to try TPIK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporal_Key_Integrity_Protocol) only.
Try the 505 in Bridge mode...LAN wire the back of the TV to the 505 in bridge mode connected to the main host router.

2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N? : My router (DSL 2750U) supports only 2.4 Ghz
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only. :: Only 20 Mhz is supported
Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.:: I tried manual and also automatic. Repeater is getting connected to the main router and the other devices get connected to the repeater. Problem is with getting the TV connected to the repeater though TV gets connected to the router without any problem.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only. :: tried all of these
Try the 505 in Bridge mode...LAN wire the back of the TV to the 505 in bridge mode connected to the main host router. :: Connected the TV with repeater through LAN wire but still no connectivity. Same error message about IP setting is displayed.
TV is able to detect the repeater but does not get connected to it.

It sounds like that other devices are working with the 505 in repeater mode however the TV is not. Which leads me to think that there is something wrong on the TV or the TVs network settings or the TV is defective...I recommend that you phone contact the Mfr of the TV and ask for help and information...If the TV wont connect even while security is disabled on the WiFi, then there is something wrong on the TV I believe.
