Title: Unable to configure Hard Drives
Post by: puphiu on February 27, 2014, 04:24:00 PM
Hi

I have just bought an DNS-320LW. I am posting here, because I couldn't find a thread for the specific model.

I have had problems with this thing since it left the box. The configuration wizard didn't work (nor did the configuration utility). I found out the 320's ip from my router and accessed it's webui directly.
I can mount an external usb HDD perfectly and run S.M.A.R.T tests on the internal HDDs.
What i can't do is configure the internal HDD's. I have tried with different drives (though only one is on the "accepted" hdd for this model) but I still haven't been able to do anything... Not even select standard / RAID /JBOD mode or format.
I have already upgraded to FW  1.03b04.

Can anyone help me with this?

I know it sounds crazy, but have you tried using Internet Explorer? Check my post here: http://martinove.dk/2014/02/18/solved-unable-to-format-disk-on-dlink-nas/

Yes, browser incompatibility may be the cause (I've been meaning to write an FAQ post -- it's on my "to do" list). If you're using IE11, however, you still may encounter issues: DNS ShareCenter - IE11 Not Fully Compatible with All ShareCenter Functionality (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58271.0)
