Title: Unable to format hard drive
Post by: mouuuton on March 08, 2014, 10:42:21 AM
Hello,

I've acquired a DNS-320L, put a Seagate Barracuda ST31000333AS 1TB (which is normally compatible) connected the NAS to my network but I cannot make it work. The orange led is on so I guess I have to format the drive but there is no option/button to do this in the sharecenter. All I have is a "Set RAID Type and Re-Format" button greyed.

The S.M.A.R.T test section shows :
Disk2
Seagate
ST31000333AS
-
Pass [2014/03/08 18:16:38]

I've tried both slots and formatted the drive in FAT using a USB adapter but it still doesn't work.

I've also tried with the Dlink Storage utility but the device is not detected (on Mac OS Mavericks, firewall off).

Is there something wrong with the NAS or my drive or do I forget one step ?

What browser are you using to access the DNS-320L web UI?
