As the title says, my DNS 323 transfer rates are EXTREMELY slow... it seems to average 100 KBs... yes KB, not MB.
The NAS is connected via ethernet cable to the router. i can access it just fine, but the read/write speeds are atrocious.
I should note that i'm just bringing this NAS out of storage, it's been in the closet for 2 years but it was never this slow before.
we have internet through ATT and are using their supplied modem/router. PC is using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. internet speeds are fine, the only thing that is slow is the NAS.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Try swapping out the Ethernet cable, as damaged cables are not unheard of. Also, try accessing the DNS-323 from a different PC to see if you observe the same throughput speed.

I've tried 3 different cables. 2 Cat5e, and 1 Cat6, nothing changed. The only PC i have is my hardwired desktop PC... guess i'll need a friend to bring over a laptop or something.

I experienced a similar issue with my DNS-343s, and the KB level throughput was isolated to one particular PC (for no explicable reason). Placing the DNS-343s on a switch connected to the router rather than directly wiring the DCS-343s to the router corrected the issue.

hmm... i think i have an unused switch in my closet somewhere, i'll try that. Thanks!
