Title: Problem With Current Time
Post by: johnmsch on March 13, 2014, 03:59:37 PM
I can't seem to get my DIR-655 (A4/1.32NA) to keep the correct time.

If I check the Daylight Saving time box, save the page and the router reboots, when I come back to that page, the time is 3 hours ahead of the current time, and the DST box is now unchecked.  I have it set to use the Eastern time zone.  Any idea what's going on here?

Also, if the NTP server is enabled, how often does the router sync with that server?

Thx

Every time you reboot the router I believe is when it updates...I use NTP and it keep time on mine...

Interesting, but that seems a little strange.  If you were to go months before rebooting the router, what's the point of using a time server?  Is the internal clock that accurate?

I guess my biggest question is why the DST box doesn't stay checked.

I have an A2 with the 1.37NA firmware.  The time works fine the DST kicked in just like it is supposed to.  Might want to try and upgrading to newest firmware you never know it might fix it.

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Thanks FN, but I'm using the latest version of Firefox and have been through the troubleshooting steps.  I just can't figure out why it won't keep that DST box checked.  I'm going to upgrade the firmware this weekend and see if that helps.

After updating to 1.37NA, it seems to be working fine.  I'll be checking it every day or two to be sure.

The strange thing is that I didn't see anything related to this issue in the release notes for 1.37, or any of the previous releases.

I had brought it to D-Links attentions on Rev B. With the advent of the Samsung S4 issue, they probably just fixed it.

Enjoy.
