D-Link updated the release notes for the DNS-345, i.e. an item was added: [My Surveillance] UI enhancement and more cameras supported
Since My Surveillance is an add-on, I can only presume the supported cameras is a configuration file that the firmware update can overwrite or amend.
Can any DNS-345 owners with the latest firmware installed validate that this latest version has more recent Cloud Cameras listed?
-
Will give this a try this evening after work sir.
-
Thanks, I'm curious if your DCS-933L will be picked-up. ;) :-\
-
We shall see. I hope so...Will be nice to capture video to the DNS directly. ;D
-
You'll like using it, although the add-on can easily chew through HDD space very quickly, especially if multiple cameras are associated, each with scheduled recording periods.
-
Only have one. ;D
-
Well, leave it on 24x7 with maxed-out image/video settings and see how long your HDDs last. :D
-
DCS-933L still not listed in SC after v1.03 FW update. :'(
-
The release notes were rather vague, and I'm still questioning how the firmware upgrade impacts the Surveillance Center add-on, since it's a separate install.
-
Ya, and I believe I have the latest SC version...v2.00? I think. ???

If I recall correctly (it's been a while), there may be a v2.01 release.
The release notes (for the DNS-345 v1.03 FW) also indicated updated UI elements in Surveillance Center.

Following the latest DNS-345 firmware update (v1.03b06) I was able to coax the Surveillance Center v2.0 add-on to recognize my DCS-931L and DCS-5020L. These two cameras do not appear as options in the camera dropdown menu, but can be manually added, something that I was unable to get working properly in older DNS-345 firmware versions.
Open Surveillance Center and under Camera Setup select DCS-930 as the camera Model, enter the network camera IP address, and username/password combination. Using this approach I was able to tap into the live video and audio stream for the newer Cloud Cameras, although the advanced functions, like PTZ did not work for the DCS-5020L.

When are they going to add the 933L to SC? ???

Good question. The only cameras currently supported in the add-on are a couple of years old. At least you have a means of accessing the camera using this ad hoc method. For the DCS-933L, which doesn't have any pan tilt capabilities, the workaround I described below may in fact provide 100% functionality.

I'll give it a try...again. ::)

If your configuration didn't work the first time, the most likely cause is the camera you chose. You need to select DCS-930 from the available cameras and then enter the IP address and un/pw combination. Selecting DCS-930 is the only camera that seems to work for the newer models. This is ironic since the DCS-930 is the oldest camera of the lot.

Ok so must have some similarities then. I didn't think to try a off model as I thought it would be model specific for the most part. ::)

Similarities? The DCS-930 is the most dissimilar model. Perhaps D-Link made FW modification that enable that model to be used that as a platform for enabling the streaming for the newer models.
??? :-\ ???

Possible the core base FW code is similar though. :-\

Possibly, but I'd still eagerly awaiting a new version that natively supports the next generation Cloud cameras with PTZ support.

Ya will be nice. ::)

Any update? ;D

Yes I got it working my using the 930L selectioin and manually setting up the IP address. Working well. No I can save video to the DNS when I need to.
Thank you sir. ;)

Thanks for the update!
Now all we need is native support! :D

::) Keep us posted when that comes about sir.

You'll be the second person to know (perhaps)!
