Greetings..
I have the DSL 2730U modem, and I'm using it as switch/wifi hotspot.. meaning I'm connected to the internet through another wireless modem/router, and I have a lan wire from the ZTE router to the 2730U router, to which my PC is connected.
I'm wondering about the wireless bridge option in the 2730U config page under wireless, and if anyone have used it... I'd like to know what is it and how to use it myself.
I would like to know if I can use it to establish a wireless connection between my two routers to, instead of the lan wire.
thanks in advanse

- What Hardware version is your modem? Look at sticker under modem.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the modems web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Can you post a screen shot of this option?

Thank you for responding. the config is almost exactly like this one.. the wireless settings anyway.

HW ver is C1
FW VER is LN_1.01 (regular 1.01 FW. I believe LN is for the ISP)
Region ME

Well, if your model modem has the same features as what is in this emulator, then you'll need to select Wireless Bridge for the AP mode and Enable Scan for Bridge Restrict. That should show you the main host routers SSID and MAC address. Pick the SSID you want this modem to connect to. Select Apply and Save.
I presume the modem should reboot. The modem should connect to the main host routers WiFi SSID name and you should be able to connect a wired LAN pc to this modem in bridge mode.

I have tried this and I got nothing.
There has to be something else. what about the password protection?
-
As a test, you might disable the security on the main host router to see if the modem will connect...

Nothing..
Have you tried it yourself and it worked, or is it n assumption?

I personally don't have this model modem so this is only a suggested test to see if the modem would connect to the main host WiFi with out any security. If it's not then I presume there is a configuration issue or possible compatibility issue.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know what you find out...
