- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
How do you have the ports configured on the router? Are you using PF or Virtual Server?
Please give details...
I have a port successfully working for my DNS on the 5500 using PF...
-
Ok I am with Teksavvy and have a Thompson DCM475 Docsis 3, Well if pf is port forward then i tried that nothing.
-
Sounds like a configuration issue then...check your settings.
Is uPnP enabled when you using PF?
-
Yes do I have to disable upnp? please let me know.
-
Disable uPnP and then test again...you have to be actively using the port before you test for OPEN status...
-
No if you use the port when you check it will say either in use or down.
-
That too...However you do have to be using the port with the desired application to get accurate results. If your not using the port then you'll get false negatives.
-
so upnp is messing with ports?
-
Not sure...I'm using PF with port 21 and uPnP is enabled on mine and I'm getting connected. Have you tried using Virtual Server?
-
Well still not port forwarding does this router support DDWRT is there any way I can get another firmware that works and gets the job done I feel I wasted 169 on this.
-
I'd phone contact D-Link support and ask them to review your settings to make sure it's set up correctly.
Let us know what they say...
-
I have contacted them they say to reset my router and that's all.
-
Have you tried using Virtual Server?
-
Anyone wanna to review this kids settings to see whats going on?
-
If DMZ isn't working it's not the router..he probably left the windows firewall on.
-
Ya this is a mis-configuration not on the router...
