Title: DIR-825 - Need older firmware version
Post by: bwylover on March 26, 2014, 03:04:04 PM
I'll admit I know virtually nothing about routers.  I have had my DIR-825 for a while now and never checked into firmware upgrades.  Now I have 2.02NA and need to go to 2.07NA.  The not-very-helpful support person emailed me that I need to upgrade to 2.06 before I can go to 2.07, but I have no idea how to do that - I don't see anywhere that lets me download that version.  Can anyone help?

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

Using IE or FF only, DO NOT USE CHROME!
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.

Do a factory reset on the router with one wired LAN PC connected to the back of the router. Disable or turn OFF all other devices. You can do a factory reset from the routers web page at 192.168.0.1 under Tools/System.

Wait for the reset and the router to come back to ready. Go to the Tools/Firmware page on the router and select upgrade router by locating the v2.06.bin file you have on the desktop.

Select Send FW file and accept the popup messages. Wait for the router to process the FW file and come back to ready.

Once ready, Go to the Tools/Firmware page on the router and select upgrade router by locating the v2.09.bin file you have on the desktop.

Select Send FW file and accept the popup messages. Wait for the router to process the FW file and come back to ready.

Once ready, do a factory reset from the routers web page at 192.168.0.1 under Tools/System once more then set up the router from scratch using the set up wizard.

I'm not sure about the region - I'm located in Connecticut.

I went to the link you provided and there is no TYPE - I tried to provide a screen shot but it won't work.  The only categories I have are Downloads, FAQs and Videos.  I double checked the link to the page and it matched.  Now what?
