Title: QOS not working Properly
Post by: hyelton on April 02, 2014, 10:52:16 AM
So I figured out why I was having an issue of HIGH ping while uploading and downloading at the same time. Check it out. I have a 2meg upload, but why is my 2 meg upload being MAXED out while QOS is on? Thats why I had high ping on my DGL-4500 cause QOS is not throttling my upload like it should.

Its also very odd QOS seems to work when not downloading, But as soon as I start a Download or a YouTube Video the QOS stops working maxes out my upload and causes high ping

Well you set a manual uplink speed...
What happens if you set a automatic UPLink speed?
What happens if you set a manual 1024Mb UPLink speed?

Auto Uplink is worse as it will put 2100 as my uplink speed.

Manual to 1024 slows my upload down correctly but slows it down to only 1meg Right now I have it set to 1600 and its okay ish but 1600 and works like it should at 2000

Retest again with Dynamic Defrag disabled. Thats only for ISP servcies less than 1Mb I believe. I never used it.

I`ve tested it before and just tried it again with no change.  I`m gonna put it at 1600 for now.

Did you do a full reboot after disabling Dyn Defrag?

Keep us posted.

Any idea what the difference is between DI, DNA, and WW?

I'm having some issues with my 4500 that seem to revolve around wireless... I'm on 1.15.

Keep with the Current FW version you have for now and lets troubleshoot the issue first:

If your in the NA region, only use NA region FW.

v1.24 only fixes a Samsung phone issue and is not currently supported or working for NA units. I've asked about it and haven't heard anything more about that version.
