Title: Can upload to but can't download from my DNS-320 via web browser
Post by: erniegiro on April 03, 2014, 06:20:45 AM
Hi guys, I changed from a dlink dir-615 router to a wd mynet900 router. The dir 615 allowed communication to my dns-320 via a virtual server application, using port 80 internal and external. I was able to routinely upload and download files with no problems. I am using the dlinkddns account. The wd router does not offer a virtual server application instead it allows port forwarding. I have enabled dynamic dns on the wd router, using dyndns, which underwrites the dlinkddns accounts, since there is no option on the router's menu to add dlinkddns. I have set the wd router to forward port 80 internal and external as HTTP, using all protocols. I can access the dns-320 remotely, and can upload files to it but cannot download files from it to my remote computer. I imagine I'm not setting something right in the port forwarding of the wd router, and I wonder if any of you can provide any insight on what port forwarding settings to use.

How were you remotely uploading/downloading data to your DNS-320?  e.g. DNS-320 Web File Server?

via the internet browser using the share center control user interface, and the web file server application. Oddly enough after I posted this message, I logged on again and successfully downloaded 3 files. So it seems to be working OK now. I'm still a not very knowledgeable when it comes to ports settings so I have some learning to do. Thanks for the reply though.

I'm glad everything worked itself out. Post back if you have other questions.  ;)
