Title: DIR 615 rebooting every few hours after 5.13 firmware
Post by: nedj10 on April 08, 2014, 01:10:15 AM
Hi everyone I have dir 615 E3  a few months ago I let it check for a new bios and it found 5.13 and installed it.

Ever since then the router reboots on its own and quite randomly every 3 or 4 hours.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Is there a fix?

thanks
Ned

    What region are you located?
South East USA
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
LAN nodes are connected to the router via hard wire and wireless, including one managed switch connected to the router
Has a Factory Reset been performed?
No the point of this post was to determine if this is a known issue with a known fix or known debug steps

Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
A factory reset was performed 2 firmware updates ago.

Was the router working before any firmware updates?

I recommend you perform a factory reset and set up from scratch.
I would remove the external switch from the system temporarily while you test this out to make sure you can narrow down the problem.

Try some of the suggestions...

Please answer with any information regarding the questions presented. The more feedback we get, the better we gain a idea of your system and helps us give you better feedback and suggestions.

These routers work well out of the box and and if problems are seen, they are mainly configuration issues and surrounding environmental conditions.

This router has had issues since it was purchased unfortunately, the switch has been disconnected already during a testing phase and it had no effect on this condition. Will attempt a factory reset when I have time this evening.

Thanks
