Because of upgrade fail, i've my dcs932l bricked. I'm trying to resolve this with the "emergency room" upgrade firmware but when i try to upload (any kind of) the firmware, the only answer is "Failed to upload image".
What can i do?
Thank's

If the DCS-932L firmware upload was disrupted by any form of network or power disruption, there's a good chance the camera was rendered unusable.

But the emergency room works... the ip cam works too... why i can't do anything ?
-
Perhaps there's some miscommunication. . . What is an "emergency room" upgrade?
-
Press reset button and insert the power cable.
Then go to 192.168.0.20 and you will see the emergency room !
From this page you can upload the firmware... ( but don't work)

Are you absolutely certain the device at 192.168.0.20 is the camera?

You still haven't described what the "emergency room" is. I own this camera and there is no reference to either "emergency" nor "emergency room" within the camera firmware. Can you provide screenshots of what you're referring to?

My screenshot about "Emergency Room" !
I'm not lunatic ! :) :)

What is Ralink Technology? This is not a D-Link UI. Never saw this before. How are you accessing the web UI exactly?
To log into the D-Link web UI, enter the DCS-932L IP address in a web browser on PC on the same LAN as the camera. The UI should look like this: http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dcs932l/100/upgrade.htm (http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dcs932l/100/upgrade.htm)
-
Possible that UI is a wireless adapter client? ???

Definitely not D-Link, that's for sure. The OP should instantiate a direct IP connection through a local browser.
-
Needs to confirm the IP address of .20 against other devices...Is the .20 IP address that of the DCS?
-
Entering the DCS-932L IP address in a local browser will confirm whether the IP address is correct as the OP will either see the DCS-932L web UI login or something else altogether. :o

No connection error, the 932 is always with the red led on. no possible connection with the lan (on dhcp) .
I've read about the E.R. in the other dlink product. I've tried to connect and i've found it.
the 932l is connected to my imac with a normal cable. i've set manually the ip of my imac (192.168.0.1)
and i've found the 192.168.0.20 of the 932l.
I don't have another device connected in my mac.

Lets start over:
- Perform a factory reset: DCS Network Cameras - Factory Reset Procedure (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47707.0)
- Connect the DCS-932L to your router via a wired connection
- Download the latest firmware to PC on the same LAN as the DCS-932L
- Enter the IP address of the DCS-932L using a browser on a PC on the same LAN as the camera
- Navigate to MAINTENANCE > Firmware Upgrade
- Upload the new firmware
- while still in the DCS-932L web UI, configure the wireless network settings here: SETUP > Network Setup and configure the admin password credentials
- Run the Setup Wizard if you would like to add the DCS-932L to a mydlink account (Make sure you download the LATEST version of the setup Wizard. Older versions may not work with newer firmware)

Any update with this issue?

My take on this.. he is trying to flash the wireless chip onboard the 932L. Thats why it doesnt work. Its not an interface to flash the camera ROM.

Hello,
I have just been told by french D-Link support the way to get to this "emergency room" : my dcs-932L was apparently bricked after flashing the latest firmware (red led on startup, no activity afterwards, factory reset did not do anything).
To get to the emergency room :
* connect directly the camera cable to your pc (direct link, no switch, no router between pc and camera)
* configure your PC IP address statically : IP : 192.168.0.50 netmask : 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.20
* power-on the camera and press the reset button for 20 sec
* wait a bit (20 sec approx.), and go to http://192.168.0.20 and the emergency room will appear
I could flash the new firmware this way, and my camera is no more bricked.

Thank you for this information. I've forwarded the content from this thread to my contact at D-Link USA to see if this is a valid recovery option. And if so, can it work on other model cameras... ???
-
I googled dlink emergency room and found some hits this time. Mostly bricked router related.
I sure hope it is an option.

If it comes to be supported, we could add it here:
Emergency Recovery Mode (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.0)

I already have a placeholder for it here: Network Camera FAQ (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=300.0) ;D
