For $199.99 why not 2.4 and 5GHz enable at the same time

Because it's not software related.  It's a hardware thing to be able to transmit and receive on both bands simultaneously. Hope that answers your question.

Where and when did you buy your DGL4500 that it was 200 bucks?  If you bought it in the last 3 months you over paid by $70

However, the router is not only 3 months old.  The product debuted on the market back in Oct 2007 - http://networking.engadget.com/2007/10/25/d-links-dgl-4500-gaming-router-ready-for-purchase/
