Hello, I have DIR-300 for quite sometime now and I was searching around the net if there was an update to my firmware and I saw one on the official site.

I followed all the instructions and successfully installed it.
Now that I wanted to change the username and password.
There's no way for me to change the username as that option is gone and now

When i do change the password, it just tells me that nothings changed.

My question now is, is there a way to go back to my original firmware or can I just update my firmware 1.06 to the 1.03 I found on the net the way I did to update from 1.03 to 1.06?

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
This feature may have been removed for security reasons for this model router...There any release note information in the newer version?
Did you follow this for updating FW?
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
If not, you might try reloading it again...
Also,
PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
- Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
- Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.
- Disable any downloading client software managers, i.e. Torrents or similar.
PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Hello, sorry for the late reply.
Ver A1 F/W 1.04 but when I logged in to 192.168.0.1 before it was 1.03
right now the version is on 1.06 as I previously posted.
I'm currently in the Philippines
I followed the steps so I know it works but I just don't like the current firmware and all I want is to downgrade it. I just wanted to know if it's possible. All 3rd party or pc web browser configs ain't an issue at all. Everything works fine, I just don't like the firmware and I just want to remove it and downgrade it to the original one.

I recommend if it works, don't fix it. Leave whats on there.

sucks that I can't change the username >.<

User name configuration is no imporrtant for this model router. Users have the ability to log in an use it as needed. Most of the DIR series routers don't offer the ability to change the user name anyways. ;)
