Title: Got a new laptop that won't connect to existing home network
Post by: Dillpickles on April 22, 2014, 06:21:10 AM
Hello, I don't have any knowledge of my D-link 2750U, got it on the recommendations of a friend. Had it for 3 yrs. & never had & issue. Connected to my desk top, laptop, Uebo media player, even my wife's tablet, no problems.

My laptop is about to die for the third time, & old HP 2007 I had reworked. So I got an Acer which won't connect, in fact when I try message says "Windows cannot connect with my network" doesn't even allow me to enter the security passkey. Have tried everything I can find with the exceptions of messing with the router settings.

I don't want to knock myself off line by changing something not knowing what I doing. So in closing I now have four devices working on my network, & a brand new laptop which I can't connect to the internet wirelessly.

Tried connecting Ethernet directly, no issues.

DP.

I would check your Windows Networking configurations and make sure the network is set for automatic obtain IP addressing and that any PC HW drivers and LAN or Wifi adatper drivers are also up to date.

Good Luck.
