Title: Vlan Setup with Hotspot Gateway
Post by: djsky on June 05, 2014, 12:50:08 PM
Hello, I am tearing my hair out trying to work this out.
I have a DGS-1210-24 Smart Switch, a Pheenet Hotspot Gateway, and some Wireless access points.

The Gateway has Vlan Capability as do the switch and access points.

I have the gateway providing a Private Network on it's default LAN port and a Guest Network in a different subnet on VLAN 101.

I have set the wireless access points to be private SSID on the LAN port and guest SSID on vlan 101.

What I can't seem to do is complete the bridge with the DGS-1210 switch.

The Gateway is connected to port 21 and the AP's to ports 17-20.

I can't for the life of me work out A how to set ports 17-21 to be trunk ports, and how B to set the relevant tags/untags/non-members.

Any basic assistance would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

I'd review the user manual as see if there is any information regarding this, if not, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Hi, djsky

User Manual includes screenshots how to configure untag/tag ports on VLANs.

See D-Link DGS-1210-24 User Manual -> 802.1Q VLAN:
