Hi,
I'm the owner of 3 DCS-942L .
I'm using them since September 2012. I'm used to work with the configuration web server, and figured out how to set cameras for my needs.
Actually my settings were:
SD Recording set to always with cycling
Email sent on motion detection from 9.30 to 19.00
Video recorded via FTP to my NAS triggered by motion detection.
All was working fine until the end of May '14 .
I noticed that cams were no more recording on SD Card ALL AT THE SAME TIME !!!
At the same time, camera stopped to send email on motion detection, and no more video files is sent to NAS. Sd recording is set to Always on all cams, but the running man GIF with REC label on homepage, don't blink anymore.
This sound VERY VERY strange to me(All cams are A1 Hw release) .
I factory resetted alla cams, formatted the SD card, manually reconfigured everything ( I avoided to upload a configuration file to re-introduce any eventually bug recorded in configuration) .
I tried to rollback firmware to version 1.22 on 1 Cam without solving the issue.
My understanding at the moment are:
1.Some bug introduced on My Dlink Cloud caused all my cams not to work anymore, bug related to agent
2.Hw Revision A1 has some sort of timely related bug (from 1st June '14, no more cams working) .
Please help me.
Regards
Giulio

There's a strong likelihood that perhaps the router is at fault, as this is the only common factor among all of your cameras.

Hallo Giulio
Did you solve the problem. I have the same situation with six 942 cams.

Hello,
I think the only possible solutions can be:
- check if sd is not broken, i think that after cycling writing videos, the sd cells started to fail. In case, replace the sd card.
- downgrade to Fw 1.22 . Fw 1.23 is unstable, you'll encounter strange behaviour.
After trying everything, it seems the only feasable solution.

The sd cards should last several years. If you look in the 2230 I've blown up 4 cards in short time. :(

My recordings size is 16 GByte for three days. This mean that sd card cells are written about 120 times every year. All 3 SDs suddenly started to create some problem after 2 years, so the write cycles were about 240 . Online many people state that an sd has 100.000 write cycles, so this is very strange. I think you're right, but my real life test brought me to replace all the 3 cards to restore the functionality of my cams :)

In February 2014 had a similar problem - no recording on SD, no recording on NAS, no "daily" email of snapshots - this was on 4 different 942L's... it all started happening when I "upgraded" the firmware to 1.23 - it took several "factory resets" on each camera and a re-install of firmware V 1.22 before the problem was corrected - also reset my router a couple times so I knoew I was working with a fairly "clean" setup. - so it appears that the firmware was the issue - now I see a "new" version (1.24_4408) out there but am afraid to try it until it has proven itself - anyone tried it yet..?? what are the changes from 1.22 ? Thanks
