Title: Upgrade to 2 x 3TB WD Caviar Red (FW 2.03)
Post by: CatalysTim on June 16, 2014, 08:17:00 PM
Can anyone confirm for me that this configuration would work fine on the DNS320 with firmware 2.03? The original specifications seem to indicate that the device can only take a maximum of 2 x 2TB, however it seems some people have had success taking it up to 6TB.

Please advise. Thanks, guys.

It should work fine.  At least it has for numerous others.  Actually, you can use several 4TB drives also for a  total of 8TB.  I have used the Red 3TB but have gone to 4TB Hitachi's.  Sometimes people have issues with the initial format.  If so, I have had the best luck with raw drives.  If you already formatted them and have trouble, just put them in a Windows machine or whatever and delete all the volumes and partitions.        good Luck.
