Title: wlan_rx_wake problem
Post by: ricky_thunder on June 19, 2014, 11:30:07 AM
I have a Dlink Dir-820L router in my house which cause cell phone's battery drops really quickly. It happens to both on my Nexus 5, and my uncle's iPhone. I use an app BetterBatteryStat and find out that a kernel wakelock called wlan_Rx_wake is killing the battery, but when I turn the wifi off or connect to other wifi network the problem disappear. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

What FW is currently loaded?
What region are you located?

What wireless modes are you using?
What security modes are you using?
What channel width is currently set?

Any other WiFi neighbors near by? use InSSIDer app to find out. How many?

The router is located in my basement, but it's not the signal strength problem, but the problem still exists when the router isin my room.  There are around 10-15 wifi neighbors near by, and I'm using WPA2 security mode with AES encryption. The channel is set as default, but I tried to change the channel before. Channel 4 for 2.4GHz, and Channel 36 for 5.0GHz. Problem is still not solved. I am not sure how to check what FW is loaded, but I have a old D-link router, it did not have the same problem. The wireless modes are all default for 2.4GHz and 5.0Ghz, all mixed I believe.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

You can check the FW verion on the routers main log in page or the status page.

using the following process:
