I'm having a frustrating issue with my DIR-655.
It works fine, internet traffic, Draft N and gigabit are all good and my two vonage devices (PAP2) work, well most of the time.
At times, not always, when a vonage call comes in, and we pick up, the router drops the internet connection but doesn't actually reboot. The IC comes back quickly, but the vonage call is dropped instantly. I thought it may be something to do with the cordless phone, but it happens even if I turn the radio off. Port forwarding didn't help nor did QoS adjustments.
I've upgraded the firmware to 1.10, and the above, all without an improvement.
I'm also having the problem of not seeing the other computer in my network, but when I plug in my old Di-524 router, they network just fine. Any clues on that one? Desktop is XP SP2, Laptop is Vista home premium.
Otherwise, I like the features of the DIR-655, but D-link tech support is clueless to either of my problems and wants to lay blame on the computer maker, MS, or Vonage. Like I said, I have no problems with my old D-link WiFi router.
Anyone out there got this or other problems and have a solid solution?

What device from Vonage are you using?
Are you using a 2.4Ghz or 5.8ghz Cordless phone?
I had this same issue with another customer, he was using a cordless phone. He even tried disabling the wireless, no effect. As soon as he switched to a corded phone the issue stopped.
Can you try this, see if it helps?

what else are you doing with the router? BT? gaming? any high bandwidth apps?
-
There is a cordless phone, a 2.4 model. Unfortunately, I'm off to work for 10 days and won't be able to trouble shoot until I get back. I put the old router back to "solve" the problem for now.
The Vonage device is a Linksys PAP2 VOIP device.
The router itself is serving two of the PAP2 devices, one phone line on each. A networked printer/scanner, a desktop PC with XP SP2. Then I connect with my laptop via the wifi (draft N) and I have another wifi access point. Nothing I'm doing is a bandwidth hog. Most items are idle.
I would hate to have the get a new 5.8 phone to make the DIR-655 router work. If that's the solution, then it's a case of the "tail wagging the dog" and I hate when that happens ;).
Any ideas why the networked computers can't see each other when using the DIR-655?

I don't see VLAN on my laptop, and I'll have to wait to get home to check the desktop.
What is VLAN?
-
Virtual Local Area Network, it separates network traffic by adding a specific tag to the packets so they will only talk to other machines with that tag. If VLANs are enabled then that would explain why your computers can not see each other.

Where within windows XP or Vista would I find the settings for this VLAN?
Thanks.

And when you get a chance can you post you Local side IP addresses of each device and if they are static or received via DHCP.
What was the make/model of the previous router? (nat+spi or just NAT)

The advanced properties for the Network card its self.
Right click "computer" select properties, go to device manager, select your network card, go to properties, click advanced, look for a VLAN item in the left column.
