Hi,
I would like to use my DWR-921 as a 4G modem, using another router for routing fonctionalitys.
So I click on "Enabling this option will disable the NAT function of the DWR-
921, allowing it to act as a link for your devices to your Internet
connection, but without routing functions."
But what should I do now :
I've tried to connect the WAN port of my second routeur to one of the LAN port of the DWR-921.
But It doesn't work. I can't obtain my public IP on the second routeur using DHCP.
Is there something else to do on DWR-921 ?
Thank's

Try connecting the LAN port of the 921 to the LAN port of the main host router? Don't use the WAN port on the 921.
Or try this:
Turning a router into an AP. (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40856.0)

Thank's for your answer.
When I connect one of the LAN port from DWR921 to the WAN port of the second routeur, I have to choose a Connexion mode (DHCP, fixces IP, PPPoE ...)
I can't find one working ... That's my problem ...
For your second proposition, Ok, It works with secondary routeur in Bridge mode. But i wanted to use my DWR921 as a secondary access in case of problem with my Satellite access. That's with I want tu put my DWR921 in modem mode ...

I presume it may be possible however I don't know as I don't have this kind of set up to experience it.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Thank's for your answer.
I use the "Contact" button on the French DLink support web page 8 days ago (I live in Paris).
No answer ...
That's why I try to use this forum...

Lets try phone contact here:

Thank's.
I've contacted the french support.
No way to configure DWR-921 in modem mode.
The only way for me is to cascade both routers.

Thanks for sharing the info.

Hi,
Maybe should I explain my problem...
My DWR-921 will be outside of the house to capture the GSM signal with two directional antennas. So I want it to route all Internet traffic to a master router, which is in the house. The DWR-921 will not have DHCP function.
I do not know how to define a routing rule in the DWR-921 that routes all traffic from the internet to my second router, and all trafic from the master router to Internet.
I hope my question is correct and thank you for your advice ...

I believe the 921 will need to be the master router and then you'll need to use the other router as a wired AP or put this routers IP address it gets from the DWR into the DWRs DMZ.
4G ISP>DWR-921><Other router set as AP or put other router into DMZ on DWR-921<>All other devices connected to other router.

Thank you for your reply.
If don't find any DMZ option in DWR-921.
The only way I found is to put my second routeur as an AP "depending" from the DWR, as you said in your reply.
It works. But all routing fonctions may be assumed by DWR, and it is very poor : no DHCP reservation, no named devices ...

Glad you got it working using this method. I don't use this unit nor is it sold here in the NA region. I presume this is a fairly basic router and not sure if any updates will include the features you desire. I would phone contact your regional D-link support office and specifically ask them about this if you need these features.
Good Luck

Thank's once more !
you are right ...it's a quit poor device, but the only one i found with External GSM antennas and French GSM frequencies compatibility !!!
I hope for a next FW upgrade ... I will check with french online support ...

I'd phone contact them and ask about it. Hope fully they will have some answers. Good Luck.
