Title: Turning a physical LAN-port off.
Post by: 24zeven on July 08, 2014, 02:06:19 AM
Is it possible to turn a physical-lan port off?

I have an PoE adapter (it has a Mac-adres, but no IP) and want schedule that connection.
Acces control doesn't see the PoE adaper. So is it possible to shut schedule the physical-lan-port.

Not that I'm am aware of. LAN ports are always ON. The use of PoE devices on non PoE devices is no recommended. You should review devices or routers that do support PoE.

PoE or Power over Ethernet maybe incompatible with these home class routers....

It maybe incompatible with this router. The router scheduling is for device end points and associated IPs and MAC addresses of those devices.
