Title: dir-855 and two internet connections
Post by: GenericGuy on June 17, 2009, 06:12:23 AM
Hi,

Is it possible to set up the dir-855 to use two internet connections.

I have a shared, fast, internet connection, with no possility of NAT or anything fun, and then I have a slower private DSL connection with possibility of NAT.

I would like to use both these connections, but I am not sure how, or if it is possible?

I've thought about, if it is possible to purchase a USB ethernet card and plug it in, to use it as an alternative to the USB 3G modem, but how will the dir-855 see this USB ethernet card?

Also, I've tried to plug in one connection in the WAN port and the other as a secondary gateway on the network, but I can't figure out how to route anything to the other gateway? The routing section only allows to route to the WAN interface.

Any suggestions?

NO.  The DIR routers only have one WAN port, where the Internet access "modem" connects to.
