I have a big problem trying to enable 802.11 /n/ac networks in my MacBook Pro
The main problem is when mi WIFI Macbook app start to searching networks available, detects the strongest which is DIR 868L and define a location.
Here is the information before searching the Wifi hotspot. This is while i turn off the DIR868L
Interfaces:

Then when i Turn ON the DIR868L, then activate the WIFI and look again the information turn to this:

As you see, the Country Code change from X0 to LA. (LAOS, this in ASIA and i am in CHILE, Southamerica :-\
I make test many ways while keep OFF the DIR868L. Example
-Use my old router and country code didn't change.
-Connected to my neighbours WIFI hotspot, (ask them to share their keys) and country didn't change.
But, only when DIR868L is ON, the country code change. This is because DIRL868 is broadcasting this country code by default as LA: Laos, Asia.
WHAT are the problems of this.
Due to legal regulations of frequencies are not the same between countries, the macbook pro automatic power down the PHY compatibility with out 802.11g /n also /ac and don't detect 5ghz wireless WIFI hotspots.
This is very frustrating because i can't use all the potential of my 868DIRL router.
I tried other ways:
1. Update DIr868 to last firmware 1.07 = didnt work
2. Downgrade DIR868 from 1.07 to 1.01 = Works once about 30 minutes, it shows 5ghz wireless on macbook and connect, but after a reboot the comp ability gone.
3. Update from 1.01 to 1.02, didn't work
4. update from 1.02 to 1.04 didn't work
5. Update from 1.04 to 1.06 didn't work.
6. Downgrade again to 1.01 ...didnt work
Also i change every time settings to set diferents locations and this seems to no affect the country code broadcasting.
If someone knows how to fix i really appreciate your help
after this several trials i thinking to get back to the store my DIR 868L :(

Where was the 868L purchased? With in your country or online etailer else where?
Where are you getting the FW file from for Chile?
I believe LA is LATIN America, not LAOS. Laos would belong in the EA region.

Before determinate the problem with DIR868L I contacted Mac support and they told that LA is Laos, also saw this in intl country code table
I will try that firmware but is seems to be the same name and size that I download from US Dlink site

Ok, we maybe for Apple it could be different and vs D-Link.
You might give your regional D-Link office a phone call and ask about this.

So did you give D-Link a phone call about this?
I recommend that you give the a chance before looking into a different router. This router works well.
Let us know what they say.

I called Dlink. After a long call they request a detailed email with screenshots step by step to understand the problem
They reply that this problem have to up to level 2 support and needs 48 hrs to reply.
When I receive news I will explain here
