Title: Lag when watching movies/torrent

Had this same problem on my DGL-4300 as well. My ping spikes whenever I watch movies or torrent, even if it uses 10% of my bandwidth. Eg: On speedtests I get 60mb. I could be torrenting at 1mb/s, which is around the highest it goes on this router and my ping will rise. Doesn't happen on my trendnet router which can torrent up to 5mb/s without experiencing any ping spikes, unfortunately that router doesn't have wifi.

You may want to enable QoS and set up a QoS rule for the one Torrent PC and set a low priority of 200, then for the streaming device, set another rule that and and try setting a priority of 128 or 50.

Why do I need to lower my torrent speed when I don't have to on other routers? Does that simply mean dlink sucks?

Torrents are notoriously bandwidth hogs and they have to be adjusted accordingly to help share with other DEVICES, not routers, so those devices can get enough bandwidth to operate correctly.

Please follow forum guide lines and refrain from using fowl language.

We are here to help you figure out and troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue. If your not willing to let us help you out then, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

I have this router and has worked well for me as it has for others when configured and used correctly for specific applications and needs.
