Title: DIR850L - Can't access the rooter remotely
Post by: Usul on July 24, 2014, 02:53:29 AM
Hello,
I have a DIR-850L. Great product so far.
However I have an issue. I can remotely access by internet to the USB storage device through my phone and the shareport app.
However using internet explorer or other web browser and using the shareport access link http://***.***.***.***:8181 simply does not work …
It is working when I’m connecting at home to my network. But not when i’m not home even though that work with my phone.
Other question, can windows shareport plus software can be used through internet? Same issue, working home and not through internet.
Last question, I also cannot access remotely to the rooter in Internet using the access link in web browser. It works home, always works with my dlink app but not in web browser …

Dear FurryNutz,

Thanks for your swift reply.

Hardware Version: A1
Firmware Version: FW 1.10 all
Serial Number: 25302032

I'm located in China. When I received it, I deleted chinese web UI that rooter display english language. Then I updated firmware.

I'm connected through PPPoE. No modem.

Web remote access is turned on. I can access to the rooter with mydlink lite and shareport app. ALso can access the rooter using Mydlink account on dlink website. Just cannot using wan IP + port when using internet from an other network.

Best regards,

I believe that remote access via IP from the WAN site may not be supported. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
