Title: How to script or schedule restart?
Post by: jimerman on July 25, 2014, 07:30:39 AM
My DIR-826L has intermittent issues, where it will suddenly lose Internet connectivity or become extremely slow.  Restarting the router fixes it.  This occurs after perhaps a month or two of continuous operation.

So, the question becomes can I schedule a restart, say every Sunday evening?  I don't see a scheduling opportunity in the admin UI.

Another option, is perhaps a shell script that submits the restart URL to the router IP, and thus executes a restart from a Unix server.  Has anyone come across just such an option or tool?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Usually restarting of any router should not be needed and if it seems that it does, this may indicate a problem either with the router, configuration of the router, ISP service issue or a surrounding environment issue.
