Title: reset doesn't work - cannot log in as admin
Post by: 546-rid on July 29, 2014, 12:11:01 PM
Good Morning, Hello, or good evening!

I just updated my dir-645 from FW 101 to 104B11. But now I cannot log in anymore.
When I browse to 192.168.0.1 it says immediately sth like "wrong password,(admin/blank) shouldn't appear here".
My old admin password doesn't work either. A factory resent doesn't help, nor am I able to open the "emergency room", nor .2 neither .101 leads me to something.

Any ideas, suggestions, inputs?

//Edit:

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Lets try this:

Download the v1.04 file from here first:
http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/support/product/dir-645-wireless-n-home-router-1000
Unpack the .bin file from the .zip file.

Then follow this: Use IE or FF.

So, for whatever reason it worked out. I was able to connect and log-in as admin with blank PW. In the end I used openSUSE and FireFox.
So it seems to be a browser problem - I am not able to log in with my laptop, neither with IE nor with Chrome. Strange, because I was able to log-in with exactly this machine beforehand (using chrome).
Weird, but I do not plan to log in that often.

Thank you for your help anyway!

I presume there is a configuration with the browsers on the one PC.

Glad you go in. Enjoy.
