Title: Port forwarding problem
Post by: Formax on July 31, 2014, 10:33:21 PM
Hello, guys, I just wanted to ask how to port forward ? I'm just asking that, just because as I browse the internet and I always see Dir-615 port forwarding, but my website is different not orange, grey, but white and blue hud. They are different a lot, so I just wanted to ask how could I port forward on that hud, because there is no option like port forward.

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?

Would you provide a screen capture and post it here so we can see what your seeing please?

Reason for asking about your ISP modem is that we need to find out if it as a built in router already, if it does, anything you configure on the DIR-615 will not work right.

Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm) and How NAT Works (http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/). To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.

Can you be a bit more specific on what region your located? I'm trying to find the User Manual for this particular Rev K and I can't find it.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
