Hi,
I have my DNS connected to a Laptop directly via Ethernet. However it keeps disappearing from the Network drop down in windows explorer, so I can't read or write to it.
I can access the WEB-UI from my laptop by either typing in the direct ip or the web address that is d-link +the code from the bottom of the box. There doesn't appear to be a connectivity issue, so I don't know what to try.
I tried a reboot from the UI the other day and it was still rebooting an hour or 2 later! I think this may be because I've got an unallocated drive in the bay, its recognised but I'm waiting on another drive to arrive so I can RAID it. I presumed it was reformatting the drive again and this is what was causing the reboot to lag?
I've currently got 2 4TB drives in RAID1 74% full and one 3TB drive waiting to be reconfigured.

Did you try powering down the DNS-345 and removing the 3TB HDD to eliminate the unformatted HDD as the root cause?

yep, I've not got 4 drives 2*2 in raid 1 but I'm still having some connectivity issues.
Like right now I can log on to the web UI with either the 169 or dlink address but I can't see the DNS in my network so I can't access the files.
I could access it fine this morning before I left for work and the laptop has been on and not touched all day, i get back and now I can't see the DNS on my network. But i bet if I check again in 30 minutes it will be there.

Have you set up a static IP address ON the DNS? I'm currently using 192.168.0.34 for my 345.

Yeas I think so, I can always access the web-ui using the same IP even if its not showing up on my network
There is something odd going on with my fans - thet are set to auto(off/low/high) but sometimes the log suggests it cant find them.

Is 169.254.125.186 really your network? It looks like someone out on the internet is logging in to your unit or your network is not setup correctly (you get that sort of address when your ISP is acting ad the DHCP server).

Looks like your NICs on the DNS-345 aren't pulling a DHCP address. Even when you have teaming enabled each NIC will pull it's own IP, this is one of the big issues with the DNS-345 it doesn't support the industry NIC teaming standard were it creates a virtual NIC in its own OS that grabs an IP and then manages the two NIC's onboard via the virtual NIC. Dlink's method predates the dodo bird!! :)
