Title: Hopefully people have an idea
Post by: JKwan on August 03, 2014, 04:29:41 PM
This morning my BitTorrent was not working....  After much tinkering, I think that there is an error with my Volumn_1 disk (but not sure....).  I am able to run Scan Disk on Volume 2 and reports fine, however, with Volume 1, it kept on failing to start (this led to believe that there is something wrong and thus my BitTorrent is my able to run).  Long story short, how do I get Scan Disk to run or how do I check if there is a disk error that perhaps is interfering with some of the running services with my 323.
I read else where from the web that people said that take the drive out and plug to PC then run the manufacturer's tool to scan it, but I am afraid that this may make it worse..... since I can get to the file system, copy and delete files on my 323.
What ideas do you folks have that can help me out to get Scan Disk running

I am running firmware 1.08, thanks.

by the way, when I re-install the BitTorrent back onto 323, it occasionally says HDD Size Error, this really make me think that there is an error on the disk, but I don't know how to fix this.

Hi JKwan,

Never put one of those drives into the computer, because it changes the Machine Fingerprint and cause you trouble with Activation of already installed programs that require activation.

Upgrade your Firmware to 1.09 or 1.10. 10 is better, because the Drive stays connected because the operating system does not need the password, every time you reboot.

http://192.168.0.160/web/tools/scan_dsk.asp?id=200231 Version 1.10 has Scan Disk that will allow you to check the Health of the Disk Drives.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't want to upgrade my firmware - at least not with errors with the drive.  FYI to everyone else, I fixed the problem!  After digging into the problem with Googling, I found this web page and follow the instructions, BAM fixed.
