Title: Distorted Image/Disconnecting
Post by: Jason24 on August 07, 2014, 08:27:59 PM
I recently purchased 3 D-Link cameras, 1 DCS-5020L and 2 DCS-5010L's. The two 5010's are working just fine (other than the motion detection being a little over sensitive), but my 5020L constantly is disconnecting, to which I receive an email each time, as well as distorting the image which causes my motion detection to trigger when I have it turned on.

Anyone else had this issue with the image quality or disconnecting? I was about to start a return process with Amazon but I figured I would check here first to see if anyone had any insight.

Hardware-wise, the DCS-5020L and DCS-5010L are identical except for the range extender capability and black vs. white case.  Both models should perform identically.

I would try placing the DCS-5020L in the same proximity as one of the DCS-5010L to rule out any environmental variables or signal attenuation due to interference or weaker signals. You should also walk through the web UI on both models to make sure all of the relevant settings are the same for all three cameras.
