Title: [Solved] The MyDlink settings button is grayed out
Post by: tux_wifi on August 14, 2014, 02:09:52 PM
Hi,

I purchased Dlink Dir 600 L about a week back. I am very satisfied with its performance. Yesterday I opened a MyDlink account and enabled it on the router.

I enabled the MyDlink service mainly because of two reasons, to get alerts about intrusions and get notifications about new firmwares.

As you know MyDlink logs browsing history of every IP on the network. This may be useful for people who share their network but I am the only user of this Internet connection so it doesn't make any sense to keep logs of the browsing. My browser is already doing the same thing.

So I was trying to find a way to disable specifically this logging feature. So I went to http://192.168.0.1 but problem is the "settings" button of the MyDlink service is grayed out / not accessible. How do I enable it ?

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)

By the looks of it, it's already activated. Have you logged onto the mydlink.com (http://mydlink.com) web site using a browser?

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

mydlink.com Supported Browsers
Internet Explorer 7 or higher (32-bit) - Add mydlink.com to the "Compatibility View" exceptions list.
Firefox 12 or higher
Chrome 20 or higher
Safari 6 or higher (Mac OS only)

IE 11 and DLINK Active X Install
A quick workaround is to enable developer mode (F12), go to the button icon on the right (Emulation) and select "Internet Explorer 10" instead of "Edge" on Document Mode.

H/W Version : B1

Firmware Version : 2.04,  Tue 15 Oct 2013

Location : India

Yes I have successfully logged into my MyDlink account using Firefox 31.

I just cleared the cache and cookies and restarted Firefox in Safe Mode (all addons disabled) but the button is still grayed out.

I don't have Chrome installed but if you think that it may solve the issue please tell me I will install and try with it.

Removed MyDlink from the firmware by resetting to factory defaults.

I found this post http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42165.msg148503#msg148503 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42165.msg148503#msg148503).

Mydlink works because the mydlink capable devices constantly broadcast to mydlink.com(regardless of if your register to mydlink or not), once you register for a account it will match the device to your account by the serial number.

Is that  ^^ true ?

No. Just when you connect to your account. It's for remote accessing routers and cameras.
